Stephanie Israelson is a professional recording artist and worship leader from Canada. Covenant Award winner and 5 time nominee, Stephanie is a passionate worshiper of God who desires to know her Saviour deeply. Her contemporary/pop sound will draw the youngest to the most mature listener as her lyrics convey the message of hope found in Jesus Christ. Stephanie has toured much of Canada and parts of the U.S., performing in concert and leading praise and worship for various events.
The Journey…
Stephanie’s music ministry began as a young child, born in Woodstock, New Brunswick, and raised in a very musical family. From the age of 11 into her teen years, her life consisted of traveling, home schooling, and being on-stage by her parents’ side singing about Jesus. Starting out with gospel roots, Stephanie really came into a heart of passion for God through praise and worship music. Steph was the lead vocalist on three of her family’s recording projects, “The Evangels.”
In 2000 Stephanie recorded her debut album, “Israelson” with Galen Tough of “Taming Hope Productions” in Red Deer, AB. Stephanie went on to win the Gospel Music Association’s Canadian regional “Artist Competition” in Three Hills, AB that same year.
Over the next few years, Stephanie dedicated her time to ministry in the local church and raising her young family. Through the busyness of life, she began to find herself in somewhat of a spiritual drought. Stephanie began to seek the Lord and cry out for a spiritual awakening and renewal in her personal walk with Christ. In her pursuit of guidance from the Lord, she was lead to Jesus words in Matthew 7:7 – “Ask and it will be given you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” She was further reminded of Jesus’ promise in Luke 11:13 of how much more the heavenly Father will give the Holy Spirit to those who ask and continue to ask Him! Stephanie truly began to encounter the power of our awesome God and life-giving creator of the universe in her personal devotion time with the Lord.
With a sense of renewed passion in her walk with the Lord and desire to share her heart with others, Stephanie was inspired to begin writing songs for her next music project. Her July 2007 CD “Lead Me There,” produced by Andrew Horrocks, found itself several times on the Top 10 Cancon radio charts. The CD received three nominations at GMA Canada’s annual “Covenant Awards”, including “Pop Contemporary Album of the Year”, “New Artist of the Year” and “Inspirational Song of the Year”, Stephanie won “Inspiration Song” for her song “Come to the Cross”. In 2008 & 2009, Stephanie also received nominations for “Female Artist of the Year”!
Stephanie and her husband, Brad Israelson (a veteran YWAM’er and Youth Pastor), desire that people not only enjoy listening to her music, but also become challenged spiritually to be more active in their faith! It is their mission to share what the Lord has done in their lives and as a result, bring refreshment and life to the body of Christ. Their new “Worship” project released Jan 2010 expresses the spiritual desire to go “Deeper Still” in a life of passionate worship and love towards our most deserving and Holy God!
Stephanie has opened for such music artists such as Mercy Me, Article One, Tammy Trent, and Doug Horley, as well as worked with several notable ministiries: 100 Huntley Street, Lisa Beveer, Shannan Ethridge, Grace Fox, World Vision and Girls Night Out Events, Circle Square Ranches, Women of Worth and Its A New Day TV.
